As Duty Social Worker you will join an experienced and supportive team of Social Care Advisors, Social Workers, Service Coordinators, Nurses and Occupational Therapists delivering a positive approach to assessment, safeguarding and crisis management.  Gateway to Care is dedicated to ensure that human rights of individuals are at the forefront of service delivery and those adults and older people remain in control of their lives and are supported to make choices that enable their independence wherever possible.

We are looking for a qualified social worker who has experience of undertaking Care Act Assessments and supporting individuals to self – direct the assessment process who is looking to embrace a new challenge and be committed to providing excellent service to the people of Calderdale.

If you are Social Work qualified and have had recent experience of duty social work whereby you can demonstrate a calm approach to deal with crisis’s and are able to respond to urgent requests for support, work closely with health & mental health professionals, service users and their families to ensure that the person is supported at home wherever possible then we would welcome your application.

Working alongside colleagues within the team is crucial, the duty social worker would be expected to make complex decisions, often at a time of crisis in a service user’s life, supported and supervised by the Team Leaders and Manager in Gateway to Care.

Applicants to posts that are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act will require a DBS from the Disclosure and Barring Service before the appointment is confirmed.
